It's been so long
I feel like it's been so long since I've posted anything on our blog. I just uploaded over 100 pictures that I took last month alone and then realized that I have fallen behind on updating the blog. So, here is an update on this past month:
This past month really was a roller coaster of emotions. At the beginning of the month we found out that my 6 month old nephew Evan has Neuroblastoma a form of childhood cancer. He had surgery and the doctors were able to remove the cancer from his neck. Thank God they caught it early and that the cancer did not spread at all. He will continue to be monitored and we all just hope and pray that Evan continues to be cancer free. I really want to thank everyone who prayed for Evan, Mike, Deb and Emma during this very difficult time.
When are you going to travel to China to bring Owen home? I can't tell you how many times we have heard this question and I wished I had an answer for everyone but the truth is we have no idea. There is so much going on in China right now that it's really hard to say. There is a new director of the special needs program and it is believed that the director will need sometime to get adjusted to her new position therefore, there is a possibility that the paperwork may take longer then anticipated. It's officially been 67 days since our LOI (letter of Intent) was sent to China. We are now waiting for China to send our LOA(Letter of Approval). In the past year, it has taken people anywhere from 70-85 days to get their LOA. So, technically we should receive our LOA this week or next week however, again there is a possibility that things might take longer. We continue to pray that Owen is doing well. We know he is in foster care and is also a member of the "Angel's love" program where college students come everyday and play with him. We are so thankful to everyone from "Angel's Love", Love Without Boundaries, and Scotty's family for all that they have done for our little Owen. Please keep your fingers crossed and say some prayers that we are united with our son soon. We love you Owen Patrick An Yuan!!
Olivia continues to make us laugh. As her parents we are a little biased but we think she is a funny little girl. She really is talking a lot more, knows her alphabet, can count to 10 in English and Chinese, and loves to dance. Her favorite movie is Cars, and she talks about Cars all of the time. She knows all of the characters, and says things like 'oh no" or "Wow" when she watches the movie even though she has seen it 1,000 times (at least it feels lie that many times to me!). Everytime, is like it's the first time with that movie which is pretty cute. She enjoys playing dolls and playing with her new tea set from Grammie and Grandpa Chris. She is currently enrolled in Chinese school and has fun learning new things. It's a great program, not only does she learn the language, she also learns dance, music and even calligraphy.
I think I've covered it all. Time seems to go bye so much faster now and things appear to be a blur at times! I'm hopig I didn't forget anything, even though I'm pretty sure I did!!!

Another Duck Picture!!

I just received this picture of Owen and a bunch of his Shantou friends! He is with Foster mom and his foster brother and again he is wearing the duck outfit. He is the fourth child in, and it looks like he is leaning forward looking at himself in the table! I'm sure hoping we can travel to bring him home soon but for now I know he is being loved by his foster famly!
